Purpose:

The Accounting Assistant is primarily responsible to provide support to accounting teams to help achieve deadlines and continue to move projects towards success.

Essential Job Functions:

• Record monthly journal entries, perform reconciliations, pull reports, and other month end tasks as assigned
• Complete monthly close duties timely and accurately
• Follow documented procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP
• Assist in ad-hoc projects across multiple departments as needed
• Participate in external audits and year-end tax returns prepared by outside firms as required
• Establish strong working relationships within the accounting department and across department lines
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Experience:

• 1 year of experience in an accounting function
• Senior living experience highly desired
• Experience with MS office (especially Excel, Outlook and Teams) and accounting systems (Yardi preferred)

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Motivated self-starter able to successfully set and meet goals Ability to work well under pressure, establish priorities, and meets deadlines
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and integrity
• Ability to proactively problem solve challenges and opportunities
