Department Information Executive Technology & Athletics
Job Summary Provide AV/IT support for the Executive staff and key University events. Assist in making recommendations and assist in the procurement of audio/visual systems that will be used in new construction projects and renovations, provide guidance and recommendations for upgrades of existing AV systems, and oversee the non-academic AV systems for athletics and the campus as needed. Assist in development of University design guidelines for Audio/Visual integrations. Assist with the development and analysis of ongoing AV strategy to meet current and future University needs.
Responsibilities - Provide audio/video and technology support for live events. (e.g., Commencement, sporting events, convocation, State of the U, etc.)
- Collaborate with users, technicians, engineers, and vendors to manage the complete life cycle of the university's audio & visual and streaming systems to include the design, installation, and support
- Provide project management on AV projects and document support procedures specific to systems to be utilized by support staff and end-users
- Research, test, and prove the effectiveness and reliability of emerging technologies that could be used in future and existing AV installations to meet the evolving AV requirements of Georgia Southern University
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements - Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of relevant experience

- Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
- Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
- Ability to create/develop and implement programs, plans/goals, policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE
- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting connectivity
- Knowledge of AV communication protocols such as NDI, RTSP, Dante, etc.
SKILLS
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relation skills
- Experience with streaming live events and operation of live broadcasting equipment. (e.g., video switchers, audio mixers, microphones, & cameras)
