Virtue Hospitality is hiring barbacks to join our team at Virtue Restaurant, located in Hyde Park!

Join Celebrated Chicago Chefs Erick Williams (James Beard award : Best chef great lakes 2022) and Damarr Brown (James beard award : Emerging chef 2023 ) at Virtue Restaurant In Hyde Park.

Virtue is the flagship restaurant of Virtue Hospitality group that includes: Daisy's Po Boy, Mustard Seed Kitchen and Top This Mac and cheese. With a focus on southern american cuisine, Virtue has been celebrated as one of Chicago's top restaurants.

We are hiring experienced barbacks in a fast-paced environment. Competitive pay based on experience and opportunities for advancement. Benefits package including dental, vision, life insurance with employer comtributions and available after 30 days. 401k benefits available after 1 year employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the bartenders in setting up and organizing the bar area before opening hours.
Ensure the bar is well-stocked with supplies, including liquor, ice, mixers, glassware, garnishes, and other necessary items.
Retrieve and replenish beverages and ingredients as needed throughout the shift.
Clean and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
Collect empty glasses and bottles from tables and bar counters, and properly dispose of them.
Prepare garnishes, such as fruit slices, for use in cocktails and drinks.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping the floor, and emptying trash bins.
Restock and organize the storage areas, such as liquor cabinets, refrigerators, and supply closets.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
Ability to work on-site for assigned schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
