CarePro Health Services--Cedar Rapids has an immediate opportunity for a dependable and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team!

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day billing functions that include claim billing/submission, insurance follow-up, claims resolution, charge entry, accounts receivable, and payment posting.

This position is scheduled Monday thru Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to prioritize work while demonstrating teamwork and providing excellent customer service.

What you'll do:

• Obtain physician orders and CMNs (Certificates of Medical Necessity) from physicians as needed, ensure compliance, and log details
• Resolve customer billing-related issues; evaluate customer concerns and coordinate a resolution to ensure service recovery
• Accurately enter daily intake of insurance payments, identify refunds and write-offs
• Audit patient files for intake accuracy; perform advanced file maintenance on patient records and information system; file and/or create patient records
• Reconcile patient accounts regarding billing to correct insurance and billing errors
• Communicate effectively with customers, doctor's offices, and insurance companies to ensure appropriate payment for products and/or services provided

What we're looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a billing specialist required
• Knowledge of medical billing and Medicare rules and insurance reimbursement is a plus
• Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and the internet
• Attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork skills are essential
