Position Overview:  
We are currently seeking knowledgeable and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Budtenders. As a Budtender at Parkway Dispensary, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional customer service by providing personalized recommendations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving sales. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cannabis, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to compliance and professionalism. 

Responsibilities: Operational Excellence
  • Positive Attitude and Professionalism:
    • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, even in challenging situations.
    • Represent the dispensary with integrity and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Stay informed about the latest cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
    • Educate customers about the properties, effects, and benefits of different products to help them make informed decisions.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through following proper procedure at POS.
  • Attendance:
    • Maintain punctuality and reliability by adhering to scheduled shifts and fulfilling duties consistently.
    • Notify management in advance of any anticipated absences or schedule conflicts.
  • Average Number of Transactions Per Hour:
    • Work efficiently to process transactions and assist customers promptly, maximizing the number of transactions per hour.
Customer Experience
  • Customer Engagement and Assistance:
    • Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere in the dispensary.
    • Assist customers in navigating the menu, answering questions, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring a positive and memorable experience for every guest.
  • Personalized Recommendations:
    • Listen to customers' preferences, needs, and concerns to offer tailored product recommendations.
    • Guide customers through the selection process based on their desired effects, experience level, and consumption preferences.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
    • Provide friendly and attentive service to ensure a positive and memorable experience for every customer.
    • Solicit feedback from customers and address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Repeat Customer Rate:
    • Build rapport with customers and cultivate relationships to encourage repeat business.
    • Provide personalized recommendations and exceptional service to foster customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Average Wait Time:
    • Ensure efficient and timely service to minimize wait times for customers.
    • Manage customer flow and prioritize service to maintain a smooth and organized dispensary environment.
Finance and Market Share
  • Sales Revenue:
    • Actively promote featured products, specials, and promotions to drive sales and increase revenue.
    • Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall financial success of the dispensary.
  • Average Transaction Value (ATV):
    • Utilize effective upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase the average transaction value.
    • Recommend complementary products or accessories to enhance the customer's experience and meet their needs.
Safety and Compliance
  • Compliance Adherence:
    • Strictly adhere to all state and local regulations governing the sale and distribution of cannabis products.
    • Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with age restrictions and purchase limits.
    • Maintain meticulous records of sales transactions and inventory movements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Other Duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:  
Working Conditions 
  • Handling Cannabis products and packaged goods 
  • Kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting, walking, pivoting, and long-term standing. 
  • Fast Paced, customer centered environment 
Additional Notes:  
The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, walking, and lifting or moving up to 40 pounds (or more with a co-worker). Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

 
As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit to a background check. Employment decisions, in compliance with state law, are based on an employee's background report at the time of hire. 


This job requires completion of an Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) background check and badging process. You must have a valid state-issued ID and social security card to submit to the IDOA’s process.
