ABOUT
Sailors in the Navy’s Construction Battalion are makers. They’re driven to work with their hands and they know the value of doing a job right the first time. They’re tougher than any task and they’re not afraid to get a little dirty. As part of the Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees, you’ll be part of a team that crafts the Navy’s infrastructure from the ground up and paves the way—literally—to victory.
CONSTRUCTION ELECTRICIAN
The job you choose in the Navy is more than a job—it's a skill you master. Your specialization is what makes you an irreplaceable asset to your fellow Sailors, and as a Construction Electrician in the Seabees, you’re the person who keeps the lights on. You handle the wiring, the pole−climbing, the electrical equipment fixing and the downed− power restoring. Better yet, you do it all while traveling the world and getting real experience that prepares you for success—inside the military and out of it.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Construction Electrician (CE), you’re the person who keeps the lights on for the Seabees. You make sure the Navy’s power grid stays lit, from the poles and lines outside to the complex electrical and communication wiring inside structures.
Your on−the−job responsibilities could include:
PAY AND BENEFITS

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
WORK ENVIRONMENT
As a part of the Construction Battalion, you may work at Navy bases or ports of call around the globe, and you may be deployed to help develop or rebuild areas affected by natural disasters or support combat operations. Seabees primarily serve at shore−based commands—you will likely not spend time at sea.
PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES
The role above is an Active Duty opportunity in the Navy, however there are part- time roles available. Serving part−time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Builders in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes
