We are seeking a skilled Dental X-ray Technician to join our dedicated team at our modern dental practice in the Bronx. Location:

  • Concerned Dental Care of the Bronx: 55 East Mosholu Parkway North, Bronx, NY 10467

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday: 8AM - 5PM

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and Operate X-ray Equipment:
    • Set up and adjust dental x-ray equipment to ensure accurate and clear images
    • Position the x-ray imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification
  2. Patient Management:
    • Prepare patients for radiographic exams, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort
    • Position patients safely and effectively for dental imaging
    • Implement radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff
  3. Image Processing and Quality Control:
    • Develop x-ray films or process digital images
    • Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, retaking when necessary
    • Maintain records of radiographs and other diagnostic information
  4. Equipment Maintenance and Compliance:
    • Perform routine maintenance checks on radiographic equipment
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation regarding the use of radiation and x-ray machinery
  5. Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with dentists to determine their needs for diagnostic images
    • Assist other dental professionals with procedures as needed

Requirements:

  • Education and Licensing:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology or dental radiography
    • Certification and licensing as required by state law
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Dental X-ray Technician or a similar role
    • Proficient in the use of traditional x-ray equipment, digital x-ray machines, and film processors
    • Strong understanding of radiographic positioning and radiographic exposure techniques
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and dental staff
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Other Qualifications:
    • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
    • Willingness to continue education in dental radiography and new technologies
