Position Overview :
The Domestic Violence Advocate will provide direct advocacy and support for youth affected by domestic violence as part of a partnership with Reclaim and the Snoqualmie Tribe.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Youth Needs Research & Analysis:
   • Conduct research to understand the impact of domestic violence in the youth community, identifying key issues and trends.
   • Gather data through surveys and polls to better understand domestic violence issues affecting teens in the area.
2. Crisis Intervention & Support:
   • Provide immediate emotional support and crisis intervention to youth impacted by domestic violence.
   • Assist teens in developing safety plans and connect them with necessary resources such as shelters, counseling, and legal services.
3. Advocacy & Community Outreach:
   • Advocate for the rights of youth within schools, community organizations, and government agencies.
   • Raise awareness about domestic violence through education and prevention campaigns on sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and sex trafficking.
4. Ongoing Training & Development:
   • Engage in regular training to stay updated on best practices in domestic violence advocacy and solutions for youth.
   • Collaborate with local agencies and partners to address the unique needs of youth affected by domestic violence.
5. Social Media & Awareness Campaigns:
   • Maintain and manage social media presence for the Domestic Violence Advocate program, promoting awareness, support, and resources for teens.
   • Engage with the community to foster discussions and encourage support for youth affected by domestic violence.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with youth, volunteers, or in community outreach programs.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in domestic violence advocacy, crisis intervention, and resource coordination.
• Skills & Abilities :
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and other relevant tools.
• Personal Attributes :
  • Passionate about supporting youth and addressing the needs of the community.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A heart for service, with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and sensitivity in working with vulnerable populations.
