Job Title: Finisher

Location: Manassas, VA

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 Months RTH)

Pay Rate: $25 $31 per hour

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Finisher to support custom exhibit and fabrication projects in a professional shop environment. This role focuses on surface preparation and finishing, including sanding, spraying, painting, staining, and clear coating wood and other materials to deliver high-quality, client-ready finishes.

This position requires hands-on experience in a shop-based finishing environment . Candidates with automotive painting experience are also encouraged to apply. Experience limited to residential or commercial house painting will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Sand and prepare wood and fabricated surfaces for finishing
Spray, paint, stain, and clear coat materials to achieve consistent, high-quality finishes
Ensure all finished components meet client and project quality standards
Prepare completed pieces for exhibit installation and display
Perform quality inspections and touch-ups as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of materials and equipment
Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in sanding, spraying, painting, staining, and clear coating
Experience working in a shop, fabrication, or finishing environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
Familiarity with shop tools such as sanders and spray guns
Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience finishing custom exhibits, millwork, or high-end fabrication
Automotive painting experience
Background in fine finishing or detail-oriented production work
