Job Title: GIS Specialist
Place of Performance: Harriman State Office Campus, Bldg. 5 – Ground Floor, Region 1 (50% remote flexibility)

Position Overview: GD Resources is seeking a GIS Specialist with a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support a long-term government initiative focused on developing and enhancing GIS platforms and applications. The selected candidate will play a key role in maintaining spatial data systems, supporting emergency response operations, and implementing advanced GIS technologies across desktop, server, and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, test, implement, and maintain GIS applications across desktop, mobile, and server environments.
- Develop & document spatial workflows, procedures, and GIS-related operations.
- Build, manage, and maintain geospatial datasets in support of internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in administering and supporting GIS infrastructure components.
- Provide mapping and analytical support as needed.
- Respond to GIS-related service desk inquiries and technical support tickets.
- Configure and manage web-based GIS applications using Esri technology.
- Participate in and support emergency response and contingency planning using GIS tools.
- Automate tasks using Python scripting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure integration and interoperability with other enterprise systems.
Qualifications: - 5+ years of mapping and spatial analysis experience using ArcGIS Desktop/Pro
- 3+ years of experience developing data ETL workflows using tools such as Safe Software FME, Oracle Data Integrator, SQL Server Integration Studio, or ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension
- 3+ years of experience configuring and administering Esri-based web mapping applications for browser or mobile-based solutions
- 1+ year of experience automating tasks using Python
