Head Football Coach - 1.0 FTE - Wy'east Middle School Pay $2868.00 - $3715.00 / month Employment type: Other Job Description Req#: 4375. This posting will remain open until filled. This is a 1.0 FTE coaching position and will begin with the 2023/24 Middle School Football season. Job Purpose Statement: The Head Football Coach will lead and organize the high school soccer program, establishing an environment in which student athletes can gain self-esteem and develop a positive self-image. The coach will direct the promotion of sportsmanship, program equity and inclusion, a winning attitude, and commitment to student academic success. Essential Job Functions: Direct and supervise organization of practice sessions during the regulated season; to include seasonal goals and objectives. Work cooperatively with parents, other coaches, staff, administration, and support programs. Assist the Athletic Director in maintaining the care for athletic facilities and aid in preparation of the facilities for athletic competition. Assist Athletic Director in purchasing equipment, supplies, and uniforms for the Wy'east Middle School Football program. Conduct pre-season meeting with all athletes and parents, outlining schedules, student athletic contracts, and Student Athletic Handbook. Work to improve skills and knowledge of each athlete and the team as a whole. Enforce appropriate team rules and team discipline. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, officials, and staff. Coordinate end of year awards, communications, and events. Supervise and/or arrange for proper supervision of student/athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities. Consult with Athletic Director and Administration concerning playing conditions, safety concerns, program improvements, player performance, outside complaints, and other related matters. Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Exemplify a moral character that is consistent with being a positive role model for all students. Knowledge of the sport at the middle school level (including recent rule changes). Ability to motivate students and teach skills and fundamentals. Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree Preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience coaching youth, middle school, or high school Football. Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful. Licenses, Certifications, or Bonding: Annual mandatory trainings; NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification or ASEP Certifications; Concussion training, Heat Illness Prevention, Performance enhancing Drugs & Substances Training, First Aid/CPR Certification.
