Job Description

The Industrial Engineer I is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area. Essential job functions include championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision and Core Values; successful completion of projects with defined goals and scope; evaluating needs, analyzing options, developing plans and managing project implementation; assisting support personnel in technical matters; developing, installing and maintaining optimum processes for safe manufacture of quality products using modern manufacturing methods; developing standardized work procedures and providing training; developing and maintaining labor standards; ensuring accurate maintenance of routing and bills of material files; coordinating corrections to production problems; evaluating alternate solutions using engineering economy techniques; demonstrating regular attendance and timeliness; and working well with others. Other functions include general manufacturing engineering as necessary. Job qualifications include a Bachelor degree in engineering or related field (industrial engineering preferred), no previous experience required but internship preferred, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, good communication, organizational skills, ability to develop plans and make timely decisions. Preferred skills include knowledge of MOST or similar work measurement systems, and experience in LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System. Some travel may be required.
