Position Title: Machine Operator

Wage: $17.50/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 5am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday, alternating Fridays 5am-1:30pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Machine Operator for a company in Beloit, IL. This is a contract to hire role.

Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting/folding lines, and dimensions and tolerances
- Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces, using hand tools and measuring devices
- Start machines, choose correct program for desired part, monitor their operations, and record operational data
- Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers
- Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, sort defective pieces according to types of flaws and record it properly
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and lubricating machines
- Grind out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinders
- Use forklifts and cranes to move parts as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned

Machine Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Background in manufacturing/metal fabrication
- Power tool experience
- Must be able to work 10-hour days
- CNC operating experience a plus
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, pull or move up to 25 pounds regularly
- Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift anything over 50 pounds with another team member
