Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Oakdale, CA
Pay Rate: $38.94/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Position Summary
Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for improving the reliability of plant equipment in various assigned areas. Reliability is enhanced through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding plant equipment and machinery. Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate behaviors that support company safety procedures with a focus on zero injuries. Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF), HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Support the PM Pillar.
• Troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to industrial equipment and machinery to maintain production and maintenance schedules. Validate repairs and ensure problems are resolved correctly the first time.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating equipment. Provide feedback to improve PM processes.
• Execute and validate equipment changeovers as needed.
• Dismantle, evaluate, and rebuild equipment with a focus on quality workmanship.
• Assist in planning by identifying parts and work requirements using SAP.
• Prioritize tasks based on business needs and maintain urgency in response to assignments.
• Participate in Breakdown Elimination processes to reduce equipment failures.
• Maintain and improve 5S standards in the workplace.
• Make cost-effective decisions that support productivity and maintenance goals.
• Repair and fabricate industrial parts using machine shop tools (drill press, band saw, grinder) and welding/brazing equipment.
• Perform quality welding (TIG, MIG, SMAW) and understand gas types, joint types, and material requirements.
• Safely rig and lift equipment using hoists, cranes, and rigging tools.
• Keep accurate records of work orders and maintenance activities in SAP.
• Use blueprints, diagrams, and OEM manuals for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Support operations through Autonomous Manufacturing Development (AMD).
• Follow and improve Maintenance Standard Procedures.
• Share knowledge and provide training as assigned.
• Work overtime as required to meet production and maintenance schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
• Demonstrable knowledge of SAP.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic.
• Knowledge and experience in fabrication and welding.
