Playfly Sports is looking for a Manager, Digital Revenue Generation to join our team in Toledo.
The Manager, Digital Revenue Generation is responsible for remaining current on e-mail marketing best practices. This includes contact strategies, data capture and campaign analysis, deliverability, and CAN-SPAM compliance.
Plan, develop and implement strategies for targeted marketing campaigns and may also be responsible for data extraction, list or lead generation and evaluation of the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Day-to-day leadership and mentoring of this position will be provided by Playfly Aspire Leadership. Manager, Database Marketing and Analytics will receive the tools, programs, and systems necessary to "BE GREAT."
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Digital Marketing Oversight:
Plan, manage, and execute digital marketing campaigns across email, paid social, display ads, and retargeting platforms to promote ticket sales and events.
Align digital strategy with the overall goals of the ticketing department and larger Athletics brand.
Work closely with creative and communications teams to develop compelling content, graphics, and calls to action.
Develop campaign calendars and timelines that support season tickets, mini plans, single-game sales, and special events.
Email Marketing:
Lead email marketing strategy for the ticketing department, including list segmentation, content planning, and scheduling.
Build and manage email campaigns for ticket promotions, game-day information, renewals, and fan engagement.
Coordinate the setup and delivery of automated workflows (e.g., welcome series, post-purchase messages, win-back emails).
Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, copy, and send times to optimize open rates and engagement.
Ensure compliance with email marketing best practices, university guidelines, and NCAA regulations.
Campaign Strategy & Audience Targeting:
Create customer segments based on purchase behavior, engagement level, and fan demographics using existing CRM and ticketing platforms.
Leverage marketing platforms and basic analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and fan response.
Identify new audience opportunities to grow attendance and revenue, including lapsed buyers, families, students, and alumni.
Collaborate with the ticket sales team to share targeted lead lists and support outbound campaigns.
Serve as the primary point of contact for digital and email marketing within the ticketing department.
Work cross-functionally with athletics marketing, creative, and IT teams to coordinate messaging and maximize campaign reach.
Stay current on digital marketing trends and make recommendations to enhance strategy and results.
Assist in training student interns or part-time staff on marketing platforms and tools as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Mathematics, or other related fields required
1-3 years of experience in e-mail marketing, direct marketing, database marketing, or marketing research
Computer and Microsoft Office application proficient, with advanced-level Excel skills preferred
Knowledge of CRM databases and athletic ticketing systems
Experience with Spectra (Paciolan), SalesForce, digital & e-marketing, and FanOne/Adobe Campaign or similar HTML email platforms preferred
Passion to work in the sports industry
Ability to work well with others and confidence when taking initiative
Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail
General understanding of enterprise level reporting tools
Basic understanding of direct-to-consumer business, affiliate marketing, competitive/business environment and consumer behavior
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Keen ability to collaborate internally/ externally; conceiving, creating and executing marketing plan designs
Ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, changing environment and be able to make decisions independently
Desires continued personal and professional development
