Job Description

Manager of Clinical Informatics

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Manager of Clinical Informatics to join our team in Glenwood Springs, CO. This pivotal role focuses on advancing our electronic health records systems to enhance patient care, ensuring operational excellence and seamless coordination between clinical needs and information technology. You will lead a skilled team, act as a bridge between clinical staff and IT, and push the boundaries of our healthcare technology capabilities to optimize clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Salary: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of informaticists to support the delivery and effectiveness of electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement IT strategic plans that align with clinical goals.
  • Manage the Clinical Informatics department, providing top-tier informatics services within the hospital setting.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinical personnel and IT, enhancing system support and clinical operations.
  • Establish partnerships with clinical software vendors to position our facility as a leader in adopting technology solutions.
  • Build and maintain trustful relationships with all stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and executive staff.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Possession of or eligibility for Colorado RN license or multi-state compact license. Registered Nurse status preferred.
  • Proficiency with various software tools including Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, Project Management, and Database software.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting within a hospital, with a substantial background in healthcare informatics.
  • Experience in clinical application dictionary level build and support tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in healthcare administration, information technology, or related field.
  • Certifications related to healthcare informatics or project management.
  • Prior experience leading a clinical informatics team or related department.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership capabilities including coaching, strategic planning, and team motivation.
  • Experienced in project management, with skills in timeline development, crisis management, and team leadership.
  • Effective change management abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, understanding financial and performance metrics.
  • Skilled in negotiation and problem-solving, capable of managing complex healthcare technology initiatives.
