Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Network Engineer within our team. The Network Engineer will provide operational and tactical support for network infrastructure. Interacting directly with project leadership, project team members, and client technical staff, this candidate will support datacenter installations of network and server devices in a datacenter environment, perform troubleshooting and remediation of LAN/WAN network issues, conduct preventive maintenance of network device configurations, and provide oncall support. This position is on-site in Sacramento, California . You must live within a commutable distance to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of network switching technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NextGen firewall technologies .
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Linux/Unix servers.
  • Experience with setup and maintenance of network equipment and software such as switches, firewalls, VPNs, loadbalancers, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols.
  • Experience with evaluating and troubleshooting network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Information Security best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 yrs experience providing operational support for small to medium enterprise networks
  • Cisco CCNP routing and switching certification or equivalent certification from another routing and switch vendor
  • ITIL Foundation Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Working Knowledge of Linux/Unix server operating systems.
  • Working Knowledge of Windows server operating systems.
  • Open to supporting network technologies and software (Dell MX switching, Brocade SAN, Citrix Netscaler, ManageEngine Netflow Analyzer, ...)

The wage range for this role reflects the wide array of factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are based on the unique facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual range is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. It is classified as exempt under applicable law. Additionally, this position aligns with the Voyatek Career Framework as a level 03 individual contributor .
