Works as directed by cutting pipe with a beveling machine. Measures and marks pipe for cutting and threading. Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding,braxing,soldering or threading joints. Lay out full scale drawings of beams, angle irons and supports following isometric drawings. Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as cutting torches. Skills & Requirements Skills & Experience Prior offshore construction experience REQUIRED. Prior Structural Fabrication experience preferred. Must be able to draw isometric drawings. Must be able to read isometric drawings and work from them. Experience using safe work habits. Candidates will be required to pass: Written Pipe Fitter Assessment Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and will also frequently stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl; and walk on uneven surfaces. The employee must be able to swing on a swing rope to board offshore structures / vessels. Lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job. Including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of hearing audio warning signals. The employee must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toed boots. Position requires working long strenuous hours. Must be able to successfully complete the required pre- placement physical exam, lift capacity evaluation, pre-employment drug and alcohol test and successfully enroll in DISA.
