Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for coordination of patient care during consult, IV sedations and all other oral surgery practice procedures in a fast-paced practice
• Provides chairside support during clinical sessions, assist Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) with treating and monitoring patients during OMFS procedures, including but not exclusively, IV sedation cases - including pre-assessment, starting IV infusion, intra-operative monitoring, post procedure monitoring and discharge of the patient to home
• Provides education instruction for patients and families
• Will maintain and record patient information, prepare and maintain the clinical environment, monitors and reassure patients undergoing dental/OMFS treatment, and provide advice to patients and refer clinical questions to Oral Surgeon
• Complete follow-up phone calls to patients
• Must complete moderate sedation competency
• Will have accountability for Performance Improvement Activity and Nurse activity
• Will work with Dental Assistant Team and Oral Surgeon

Qualifications

• Requires Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's Degree
• Active RN license and 2-3 years patient care experience in a medical/dental facility
• Must have an excellent IV and assessment skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• ACLS certified
• Must be a team player
