Overview:
A progressive school district is seeking three Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialists to provide expert consultation and services to students with visual impairments. This role involves close collaboration with Vision Impaired (VI) teachers and supporting students to develop mobility and orientation skills.
Caseload & Job Details:
Caseload details to be discussed during the interview, with a minimum of 18 students for full caseload
Services provided across multiple schools (assignments TBD)
Requirements:
Active National Licensure AVCREP Certification
Active Washington State Department of Education Certification
Experience consulting with VI teachers and working directly with students with visual impairments
Responsibilities:
Provide orientation and mobility instruction and consultation to students with visual impairments
Collaborate with educators and families to develop individualized support plans
Support student independence and safety through tailored mobility strategies
