Outdoor Education Activity Specialist

Join Pali Institute Today:

Share your passion for the outdoors with individuals from all over Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. Teach with our outdoor education program and works with students in the 4th-12th grades Wednesday through Friday and lead outdoor excursions, archery classes, and team building sessions to conference guests all weekend.

Activity Specialist Role at Pali:

Main Responsibilities:

• Safety of individuals while leading classes, hikes, high ropes courses, and zip line races.
• Provide customer service and assist with conference set up for Friday-Sunday.
• Work as Outdoor Educators Wednesday-Friday including program set up, break coverage, teaching and group leading.

Hours and Start Date:

• Full-time seasonal position
• Spring '25:
  • Start: January 5th, 2025
  • End: May 30th, 2025

Qualifications:

All Instructors Must:

• Be over the age of 21 before the season starts.
• Have prior experience working with large groups of children and/or adults.
• Possess ability to work in a team environment with 100+ other staff.
• Be flexible and adjust to changes quickly.
• Have ability to handle concerns and issues in a constructive manner.

• Experienced in the camping and/or experiential education fields.
• Able to have fun, laugh at yourself and be silly!
• Passionate about Science, Outdoor Education and/or Leadership Development.
• Comfortable and confident teaching and instruction to small and large groups of students.
• Willing to learn and grow through constructive feedback, in a timely manner.

Compensation: 

• Base Weekly Rate $520.
• Additional $25 per each weekend day work.
  • Typical schedule is Wednesday- Sunday.
