Reports to: Facilities Manager
Salary: $23 hourly rate

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the painter maintains and repairs all the buildings of Camillus House and Health. Aids all areas to improve the physical work environment. Responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance services in all Camillus facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing minor patching and painting of interior/exterior walls, piping, ceilings, floors, furniture, and any other item that requires a paint finish for residential and commercial.
  • Operating a variety of painting equipment including airless sprayer, HPLV sprayer, sandblasters, pressure washers, paint brushes, rollers, sanders, and paint mixers; clean and maintain brushes, tools, and other equipment.
  • Determining the methods, techniques, devices, and amounts of materials needed to paint interior and exterior structures.
  • Mixing paints and stains; matching colors.
  • Reading and interpreting work orders to perform required maintenance services and maintaining work order log.
  • Providing on and off hour emergency response, including repairing equipment, stabilizing damages, and requesting support personnel as needed.
  • Working closely with and maintaining good working relations with employees in all areas, as well as with contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Assisting other maintenance staff as needed in painting, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, floor and ceiling tiles.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Performing regular inspections of facilities and maintaining an inspection log.
  • Keeping accurate mileage logs.
  • Attending and participating in staff meetings as required.
  • Other duties as requested.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands: While performing job duties, an employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers. May occasionally lift and move up to 25 lbs. clean (sit, bend/twist neck, bend/twist waist, squat, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, handle, kneel, crawl, reach above/below shoulder height, repetitive movements, wipe, sweep, dust, mop). Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, color vision.
  • Work Environment: The noise level of the work environment can range from low to moderate.

Work Schedule:

  • Non-Remote Position
  • Full-time: Monday through Friday
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (i.e., evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call), as needed.

Requirements:
  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Education : High School diploma or GED. Any combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Language : Proficiency in oral/written English; Spanish preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs)
  • 5 years of Residential or Commercial Experience
  • Ability to work with airless sprayers, high lifts
  • Successful completion of Toxicology test, L2 fingerprinting, local background screening, and OIG reference check
