Part-Time Data Entry Specialist (Accounting Department) - Chicago, IL (West Loop)

$24-$28/hr (Flexible schedule and hours)

Responsibilities:

• Assist with matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving records
• Confirm vendor details and help identify and correct basic invoice discrepancies
• Accurately input vendor invoices, credits, and payment details into the accounting system
• Check invoices for required approvals, correct coding, and adherence to company procedures
• Organize and maintain electronic and paper files related to invoices, payments, and vendor accounts
• Provide data entry support during weekly and monthly accounts payable processing
• Respond to routine invoice and payment status inquiries from internal teams and vendors
• Update vendor records and ensure account information remains accurate and current
• Prepare and supply documentation to support audits and month-end activities
• Complete general administrative and data-related tasks to assist the accounting department

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of data entry/accounting experience
• Basic knowledge of general accounting principles
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, gathering and processing information quickly and accurately
