The  Patient Care Coordinator functions as an integral member of the team to deliver exceptional customer service to our patients. The Patient Care Coordinator works alongside the clinical staff to ensure efficient patient service within the department.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm PST . It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 9709 Third Ave NE Seattle, WA.

We offer 6-8 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule. Training will be conducted onsite.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for our patients. Sets the tone for a positive experience
  • Exhibits empathy, courtesy, competence, efficiency and care
  • Schedules appointments and procedures, following standard guidelines
  • Uses Multiple computer and phone systems to fulfill patient needs over phone
  • Verifies patient information, while documenting in their Electronic Health Record (EPIC)
  • Advises patients of their responsibilities regarding insurance and referral information
  • Performs outreach calls to the patients to help get the patients scheduled for screenings
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18+ yrs of age OR older
  • 1+ year(s) of customer service experience
  • Experience with computers and Windows based programs
  • Ability to work full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm PST . It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a medical office or clinic setting
  • Experience with appointment scheduling within a medical office or call center type role 
  • UCB/ACD Desktop phone system experience
  • Experience with EMR systems, prefer EPIC
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience or knowledge of insurance/prior authorizations

 

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
