JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction and supervision of the Patient Transport Supervisor, with the support and with guidance of the Transport Shift Team Leader, the hospital Transporter is based in the Express Services Department and assists the hospital in provision of care by performing transporting duties in the following areas: Inpatient Nursing Units, Emergency Department, Outpatient Clinics, Admitting and other departments as directed. The Transporter recognizes and addresses age-appropriate needs when caring for patients. He/she also performs equipment cleaning functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Adheres to the standards, policies and procedures of the Hospital, following safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors and other employees.

* Communicates effectively in a clear, concise manner.

* Meets work agreements and responsibilities.

* Responds to paging from the Transport Tracking or other designated system executes system tasking from the in accordance with prescribed procedures to ensure the efficient, safe and timely delivery of patients throughout the facility

* Transports patients safely in a manner that complies with established Hospital guidelines. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

License/Certification:

• Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA)
• or
• RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support

KNOWLEDGE

* Ability to provide care as needed and as described in department policies and procedures.

* Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the job.

* Knowledge of facility layout, clinic locations and room numbering system for efficient transport.

* Knowledge of hospital and safety code measures during the transport of patients.

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $31.70 to $35.56
