QualificationsRequired Education:
High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy (FLBOP) approved pharmacy technician training program and at least 18 years of age.
Required Experience: Three(3) years of pharmacy experience.

ResponsibilitiesJob Summary: Under the direct supervision* of the Director/Pharmacy, Supervisor/Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and the intravenous admixture program. Responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, preparing intravenous medications (IV) (e.g., chemotherapeutic preparations, hyper alimentations, and antibiotics), filling automated medication dispensing systems with a supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, delivering supplies to patient care areas, and managing pharmacy automation. Engages in specialized departmental activities (e.g., documenting medication histories, chemotherapy IV compounding, preparing sterile IV medications, inventorying narcotics, or maintaining pharmacy inventory). Assists in training/educating lower-level pharmacy technicians. *Direct Supervision. A pharmacist gives specific instructions on all assignments. A pharmacist reviews the technician’s work for completeness and accuracy, or the technician performs tasks with inherent checks built into the nature of the work.
