  Hybrid: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed on-site 3 days each week.

Job Summary:

\n

This Product Design Engineer II must have the technical expertise to develop and lead product design projects, supervise product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices.

This role will work closely with Product Management, utilizing the Engineered-To-Order (ETO) process to develop design variations that meet customer demands.

What you will do:

\n

\n
• Validate design variations to ensure they meet required performance standards and customer specification compliance.
\n
• Support design of air handling units, which includes component engineering selections, air-handling equipment layouts, and specification development.
\n
• Generate equipment submittals.
\n
• Identify multiple solutions, perform trade-off studies and select optimum solution.
\n
• Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects. Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
\n
• Support the development of Risk Assessments, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs).
\n
• Participate in Technical Design Reviews to ensure new designs have proper consideration for manufacture/assembly.
\n
• Perform design analysis and calculations with accuracy.
\n
• Coordinate completion of technical drawings with Designers.
\n
• Provide product engineering support to other functions within the business.
\n
• Collaborate with production and engineering to meet project goals (Safety, Quality, Volume, Cost and Delivery).
\n
• Participate in RTS/Quality/VA-VE events to identify opportunities to improve product performance and / or reduce cost.
\n
• Provide support and feedback to the Quality and Operation teams.
\n
• Ability to travel domestically up to two weeks at a time. Expected travel time less than 10%. 
\n

What you will bring:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 3-years of product design/development engineering or HVAC experience is required.
\n
• Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA is a plus, but not required.
\n
• Experience in product design engineering or manufacturing is a plus.
\n

\n

• Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to make progress by producing deliverables and completing projects in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments).
\n
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
\n
• Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
\n
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Materials Flow.
\n
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint) and Oracle.
\n

\n

Compensation:

\n

Salary Range: $70,000 - $105,000 annually.

\n

Disclaimer: This pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
