Description:
This position is for a mixed unit that incorporates Progressive Care Unit, Medical Surgical Telemetry, and Medical Surgical care.
Ratios are set at 1:4 for all shifts.
Weekend shifts are required; every other weekend accountability for night shifts includes Friday and Saturday, while day shifts include Saturday and Sunday.
Candidates may be required to float within the service line between various facilities as needed.
Special procedures expected include Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI).
Care will involve monitoring and responding to telemetry data along with interpreting dysrhythmias.
Nasal cannula management and non-invasive airway management are crucial components of this role.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in peripheral line care and management of medications.
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses related to renal, urology, and vascular conditions.
An interdisciplinary team approach is employed, providing support from various services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Patients are monitored in a telemetry setting, emphasizing a high level of patient care and urgent response to emergencies.
All schedules may be subject to change with a two-week notice provided for adjustments.
Travelers should possess the ability to interpret and manage various medical conditions as they arise within the patient population.
This role requires a strong team orientation and flexibility in scheduling.
