Job Description:

The candidate will utilize both their linguistic and analytical skills for mission driven roles. The candidate will translate and/or transcribe complex and sophisticated mission derived materials from Russian to Standard American English, including, but not limited to: high-level technical subject matters with a requirement for precision within the translation of material and interpretation of written and/or spoken material. Develop and implement translation methodology and quality control procedures and standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Good understanding of one or more regional dialects
• Core functions of translation, transcription, and interpretation are key.
• Can accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances.
• Can generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in use. Word choice and expression generally adhere to target language norms and means of expression specific to subject field(s) and are strong enough to allow the candidate to operate successively in that field.
• Responsible for development and review of finished work.
• Ability to consistently deliver high-quality and accurate work with a strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI Clearance and Full Scope Polygraph
• 4 yrs full-time experience or 6 without a degree
• Associate's degree or 2 additional years of work experience
• ILR Skill Level 3 in Audio or Graphic Russian
  
• 4 years of performing crypto language processing
• 2 years' primary duty: translating, transcribing, and/or gisting
• No more than 1 of 4 years reporting as a primary duty
• 2 of 4 yrs experience has to be within 4 yrs of resume submission
