Position Overview The Safety Director is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety policies and programs within the organization to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves leading safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and fostering a culture of safety across all departments.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Lead safety training programs for employees to promote a safe work environment.
- Oversee incident investigation processes and develop recommendations for prevention.
- Plan and manage emergency response protocols and drills.
- Collaborate with department heads to assess and enhance safety measures across operations.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and keep abreast of changes in safety legislation.
- Manage hazardous materials and ensure safe handling and storage practices.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety management or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong experience in safety training and program development.
- Certification in safety management or a related field (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective safety strategies.
