Job Description

Summary

This position would be 8-5 Monday through Friday starting June 2 and ending July 30. We are looking for an educator to teach our school age summer class which consists of children ages 5-11. Our school age class takes many field trips so the educator will need to be able to walk with kids several blocks to the library, movie theater, or farmers market.

Duties

• Create and implement lesson plans
• Stay on top of the classroom schedule
• Communicate with parents
• Keep classroom clean and organized
• Engage with children at all times
• Create a safe and healthy learning environment

Requirements

• Able to work Monday-Friday on a schedule of 8-5
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Pass a background check
• Pass a drug test
• A heart for teaching and making a difference in children's lives.
• Flexible.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Have or working towards a CDA or above
• Familiarity with ProCare
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• High energy
