Job Description: The Picker/Order Filler role is responsible for picking store orders using Pallet Jacks, Stockpickers or Pump Jacks in a manner that meets company established standards in safety, quality, and productivity. This role reports to the Picking Area Manager within the Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) Distribution Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurately complete and submit daily productivity sheet.
• Pick zone, reserve, reserve splits, run, wrap and consolidate skids.
• Operate Stockpicker and Pallet Jack.
• Properly build shippable pallets of merchandise.
• Transport pallets of merchandise to shipping and wrap machine.
• Sort merchandise and pack into boxes.
• Inspect and sign out equipment on a daily basis.
• Work in compliance with standard operating procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a neat, orderly and clean work area to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Ability to complete all position-specific training and pass tests including but not limited to:
• Powered Industrial Equipment training and licensing test
• Area Proficiency test
• Ability to safely and effectively operate walk-behind, rider jacks, sweepers or battery change equipment as required.
• Basic math and English reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment:

• Work primarily in a distribution center environment. Must be able to remain stationary and/or continually move for up to 10 - 12 hours per day.
• Responsible for physical activities including using equipment, position self to properly complete tasks, ascend and descend to heights of 20 feet or more, move and transport merchandise on a frequent basis: should be able to lift and move 50 lbs of material on a regular basis.
• The warehouse environment is characterized by temperature extremes, noise, movement of conveyors and equipment, and other conditions associated with the operation of a high volume distribution center.
