Under the supervision of the Security Manager and Security Supervisors, responsible for assuring the safety and security of the patrons attending events, employees, and facility assets. This is a part-time, casual position as needed based on events. Essential duties include providing excellent customer service, maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor, exercising restraint and patience with disruptive patrons, searching patrons and belongings using metal detectors and bag checks, assisting with ticket scanning and credential verification, crowd management, assisting with orderly movement of patrons, handling disturbances, patrolling inside and outside areas including parking garage and walkways, directing patrons, ensuring patrons are in correct locations, responding to patron inquiries, communicating issues to Security Supervisor, overseeing assigned areas for spills or situations, following emergency protocols, maintaining building rules and regulations, and other assigned duties. Qualifications include being a NYS Licensed Security Guard, at least 18 years old, HS Diploma or GED, minimum six months prior security experience, excellent customer service skills, professional presentation, ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and ability to perform physical demands such as walking, standing, climbing stairs, and exposure to adverse conditions.
