Job Description: Key Responsibilities:
Enforce security policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and secure environment onboard the ship, including access control, crowd management, and emergency response protocols.
Conduct routine patrols of public areas, crew spaces, and restricted areas to deter unauthorized access, monitor for suspicious activity, and ensure compliance with security measures.
Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to identify security threats, safety hazards, and operational issues, and take appropriate action to address and resolve incidents.
Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and medical situations onboard, providing assistance, first aid, and crisis intervention as needed, and coordinating with appropriate authorities and emergency response teams.
Conduct investigations into security incidents, accidents, and guest complaints, documenting findings, collecting evidence, and preparing incident reports for management review and follow-up.
Assist with gangway security, embarkation and disembarkation procedures, and luggage screening to ensure the safety and security of guests, crew, and ship facilities during port calls and shore excursions.
Provide assistance and support to guests and crew members regarding security-related inquiries, concerns, and requests, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity to their needs.
Participate in safety drills, training sessions, and exercises to maintain proficiency in emergency response procedures and ensure readiness for real-world incidents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in security, law enforcement, or related field is preferred.
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service, with a demonstrated understanding of security principles, practices, and procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, crew members, and external authorities in a multicultural environment.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make sound judgments in emergency situations.
Physical fitness and stamina to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods, and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a 24/7 operation onboard a cruise ship.
Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus, particularly languages commonly spoken by our international guests.
