Job Description

This position plays a critical role in the financial health of an organization by managing complex accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
• Collaborate with other departments on accounting related matters.
• Support the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), including footnote disclosures and MD&A sections.
• Assist with implementation of new accounting standards.
• General Ledger Management
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Audit Support
• Support internal and external audit processes including SOX compliance testing and walkthroughs.
• Provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
• Process Improvement
• Develop and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes.
• Assist with automation and system upgrades where applicable.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have at least 3+ years accounting experience, with public experience a plus.
• CPA Required
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
• Strong proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Great Plains experience a plus but not required.

 

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTRED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time on site position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus one year of related experience. Strong analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
