Description The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos is seeking a talented Simulation Game Developer to create a cutting-edge systems simulation application using C++ within Unreal Engine. Your role will play a crucial part in designing immersive game levels focused on reverse engineering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) facilities. We are looking for an innovative thinker who excels in problem-solving, especially when key information is missing, and who possesses meticulous attention to detail. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of government and contractor personnel in a high-energy government facility. Primary Responsibilities Design and develop essential tools and pipelines. Enhance gameplay mechanics and AI systems. Create in-engine simulation tools. Optimize tools for virtual production using game engines, UI, and I/O modules. Contribute to exciting gameplay and mechanics for immersive 3D experiences, including potential virtual reality projects. Lead creative solutions in the development pipeline and for individual projects. Engage actively in technical and artistic discussions to tackle challenges. Required Qualifications Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI and CI poly is mandatory. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 15+ years of software architecture and design experience, especially in enterprise-level systems. Deep understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, 3D Math, and associated data structures. Expertise in Unreal Engine, including GUI, packaging, and materials/shaders. Strong background in 3D graphics development (Particle Systems, Shaders) and performance optimization. Extensive knowledge of matrix algebra, trigonometry, and computational geometry. Proficient in C++ with the ability to create modular and accessible code. Well-versed in Git LFS and organized collaboration. Familiarity with Python tool development is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in high-profile, customer-facing projects. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a keen understanding of production values and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience collaborating with DTRA, DIA, or other IC agencies' Chief Information Officer (CIO) departments. Relevant experience with DTRA or DIA's authority to test (IATT) or authority to operate (ATO) processes. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security implications. Experience with microservices architectures and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), Unreal on Linux. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with self-managed Nvidia Omniverse or Perforce and their advocacy. Work will take place at our facility located in Reston, Virginia.
