Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing tax compliance and reporting processes, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations, and providing expert advice on tax planning strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax legislation to support our clients' financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Consulting: Prepare and review S-Corp, LLC, and LP tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- PTE & 199A Expertise: Handle passthrough entity tax (PTE) and 199A computations, advising clients on tax-saving strategies.
- K-1 Preparation & Review: Work extensively with Schedule K-1s, ensuring accurate allocation of income, deductions, and credits for partnership and S-Corp clients.
- Client Advisory: Consult with small business owners on tax and financial matters, providing insights beyond tax compliance.
- Technical Accounting Support: Assist bookkeepers and clients with debits, credits, and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
- Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex tax issues, offering proactive solutions to clients.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in tax and accounting, preferably within a CPA firm.
- Expertise in S-Corps, LLCs, and investment partnerships (LPs).
- Strong knowledge of PTE (passthrough entity tax) and 199A computations.
- Solid accounting background with a deep understanding of debits, credits, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional client communication and consulting skills.
- Experience leading teams and managing client relationships.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
