Job Description

Responsibilities Under the direction of the Department Supervisor/Manager, is responsible for assisting in the directing of activities of all assigned employees to ensure the efficient and productive performance of the department. Ensures and promotes a safe working environment that meets daily production goals in Quality, Output, and On-Time delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports department supervisor/manager in meeting product line goals & objectives Assists in directing manufacturing, processing, or support areas to meet customer quality, output, and on-time delivery. Prepares daily production reports and attends daily production meetings. Helps achieve daily production and quality goals for the assigned areas. Completes timekeeping requirements for hourly employees with supervisor/manager approval. Assists in scheduling shifts, approves overtime, vacations, and personnel requests. Ensures employees take breaks and lunches within required times. Participates in planning short and long-term department needs. Interfaces with other departments to meet goals and deadlines. Monitors shop floor to maintain productivity standards. Promotes employee relations, teamwork, coaching, and counseling. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Coaches employees in continuous improvement efforts. Maintains shop floor housekeeping and 5S procedures. Promotes ABS where applicable. Encourages problem-solving and leadership on the production floor. Works safely, promoting health and environmental well-being. Assists in implementing training plans. Keeps work areas clean, safe, and organized daily. Operates machines approximately 51% of the time. Performs other related tasks as required. Supervisory Responsibilities The Team Lead assists the Supervisor in overseeing employees but is not directly responsible for their performance.
