Job Description

Training and Development Supervisor

The Training and Development Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the organization?s employee training and development programs. This includes the creation, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that support employee growth, improve performance, and align with organizational goals. This role supervises a team of training professionals and works cross-functionally to identify skill gaps and develop effective solutions.


The ideal candidate is committed to cultivating a culture of continuous learning, while also ensuring compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and internal policies.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs, including onboarding, technical skills development, safety training, and leadership development.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps across departments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop relevant, effective learning experiences.
  • Apply instructional design principles to create engaging materials (e.g., eLearning modules, SOPs, presentations, videos, hands-on exercises).
  • Oversee all training logistics including scheduling, materials preparation, tracking participation, and follow-up.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and performance data; adjust programs as needed.
  • Stay informed on current trends, best practices, and legal requirements in training, development, and compliance.
  • Promote continuous learning and process improvement throughout the organization.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Training & Development team.
  • Support performance management initiatives by offering learning resources and coaching.
  • Assist with succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and facilitating development paths.
  • Enhance and streamline the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of timecards and PTO requests.



Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in training and development, human resources, education, or organizational development.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application to process improvement.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a training and development role.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Training & Development (CPTD) or equivalent
