AMT Travel, part of the Travel Leaders Network, has been in the travel business for over 39 years! Our team of experienced and professional Travel Advisers assist travelers with both international and domestic leisure air, car, tour, cruise, vacation packages and custom FIT reservations. We are looking for full time, experienced and enthusiastic Travel Adviser to join our team.

What you will do:

AMT Travel is seeking a Travel Agent who can provide services and sells domestic and international airline tickets, car rental, hotel, cruises, vacation packages and travel insurance to Leisure Travel Clients/Customers through an in-bound telephone environment.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

• Determines customer needs based on individual consultation and emphasizes preferred vendors as appropriate.
• Consummates sales by making necessary travel arrangements and advises Leisure travelers/arrangers of various travel information including cancellation/change penalties, schedules, and fares.
• Receives, investigates, and provides timely resolution to travel problems and issues.
• Certified Travel Counselor designation, college level coursework, technical school, or related work experience.
• Experience as a lead/senior travel agent.
• Computerized reservation system equipment

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who :

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have 5 years minimum experience as a travel agent.
• Extensive travel agent experience with emphasis on domestic and international airline transactions done through the Sabre Computer Reservation System (CRS) and auto-faring of transactions.

• Car, Hotel, and Insurance knowledge
• Tourism nomenclature
• Cruise knowledge
• Tour and FIT knowledge
• Plan and book complex international and domestic itineraries, hotel, car, and rail reservations

• Meet or exceed established performance, production, and quality standards
• Review all fare options, and provide enhancements to the basic travel purchase, including hotels and cars
• Perform basic mathematical skills including percentages
• Communicate effectively in the work environment and with the public
• Plan and organize with attention to detail and accuracy throughout the selling/servicing process
• Work in a team environment to promote member/customer satisfaction
• Learn and use a variety of travel-related information including geography and travel resource material
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Offer advice on the destination and be knowledgeable about making transportation and accommodation requests

• Keep up to date of developments in foreign countries that may influence travel arrangements or make a destination unsafe
• Be knowledgeable about passport and visa requirements for international travelers
• Familiarity with the internet
• Be knowledgeable about Travel Entry Requirements and Protocols for Domestic and International Destinations
• Ability to troubleshoot minor computer issues.
• Desire and capability to work in person in an office.
