Planet Interactive is seeking a freelance Sr User Experience Designer who will be responsible for ensuring a seamless overall user experience across the product suite. The candidate will lead design for one or more cross-cutting features or product experiences that impact the overall user experience.
Pay : Up to $70/hr
Location: Lowell, MA
Sr User Experience Responsibilities:
- User-Centered Design: Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle. Champion customer-centric, responsive/adaptive design methodologies by Architecting, Designing and Supporting new interfaces/experiences
- User Research: Collaborate with our User Research team and/or align on how to test concepts, perform task and user analysis, and lead or assist with user acceptance testing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design leaders and peers, user researchers, product managers, engineering partners, and other stakeholders to refine product requirements, ensure design feasibility, and align design solutions with business goals.
- Information Architecture: Develop and maintain information architecture, including site maps, user flows, and wireframes.
- UX/System Design: Strong ability to work, concept and drive vision that is scalable at the UX framework level. Define, document and delver scalable solutions including design criteria like entry/exit conditions, workflow branches and UX framework usage guidelines.
- Design Prototyping: Create high-fidelity prototypes and design specifications to communicate design concepts effectively. Prototyping that succinctly illustrates hierarchy and navigation
- Feedback Integration: Analyze feedback from users and stakeholders to iterate and improve designs continuously.
- Documentation. Provide product teams with clear and actionable design guidance and contribute and represent product-level design discussions and workshops, ensuring we provide documentation that supports both user goals and business strategy.
- Design Systems: Follow and contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across products. Creatively applying the principles and standards of our Design System in your practice, while contributing to its growth and evolution.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and team members and be role model of the company values and behaviors.
Sr User Experience Qualifications:
- At least 7 years' UX work experience with a focus on product and UX/UI design across a variety of platforms including web, mobile & tablets and experience with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision)
- Excellent communication skills - communicating even complex concepts with clarity - verbally and in writing, in person and virtually
- Excellent presentation skills - has the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders of all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and design thinking skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges
- Skilled at defining design direction across multiple delivery platforms (responsive browser, mobile app, etc.) and at identifying, recommending and enforcing design patterns, processes and best practices
- Effectively advocates for customer value through influencing, understanding and building consensus across disciplines
- A strong design portfolio that clearly demonstrates your work and influence on design practice and process.
Preferred Sr User Experience Designer Qualifications:
- Degree in Human Factors, Engineering, Design, Graphic Design, Media Arts or similar (preferred)
- Experience within the Human Capital Management or Workforce Management industry, or other enterprise design-level solutions
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience contributing to the development and adoption of Design Systems, Pattern libraries and Style Guides.
- Direct experience with product Localization and Accessibility.
- Facility designing for various front-end technologies and frameworks (such as Angular React, Ember, Material, Bootstrap, Ionic)
