Description SUMMARY STATEMENT The Allied Health program with Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education division is accepting applications for part-time adjunct instructors to teach CNA/GNA classroom courses
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports directly to WSCE Allied Health program manager and works closely with Allied Health Office Associate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and online) methodology and student-centered learning.
- Maintain appropriate area of Allied Health Certification and remain current in other related Allied Health discipline.
- Maintain scheduled availability to students.
- Participate with other faculty in developing and managing courses, and curricula.
- Assist in student recruitment and selection.
- Maintain laboratories, supplies and/or equipment.
- Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, practices and appropriate areas of Allied Health.
- Attend regular meetings with the WSCE Allied Health program manager
- Teach assigned courses, utilizing strategies and activities to promote student engagement and enhanced student learning.
- Follow established rules and guidelines of appropriate area of Allied Health.
- Develop, coordinate and monitor all course and clinical documentation.
- Teach Medical Assisting courses using National Healthcareer Association (NHA) materials.
- Provide hands-on Medical Assisting skills training.
- Prepare students to sit for the CCMA exam through NHA.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 3+ years of experience working as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or higher certification such as RN, PA. Associate degree preferred. Teaching experience preferred. Teaching experience may be supplemented through an accredited 16+ hour course in train-the-trainer or teaching adult learners. Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Proficient computer technology knowledge with hardware and software packages, especially all Microsoft Office software.
