The Audiologist evaluates, plans, and administers audiology treatments to restore function and prevent disability in patients with hearing impairments. Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic tests, counseling patients and their families, modifying hearing aids, and ensuring proper documentation of treatment and assessments. The position requires a Master's degree in Audiology, licensure in New York State, and encompasses both outpatient and inpatient care for diverse patient populations.
The Audiologist is responsible for administration and direct application of audiology and amplification treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Evaluates, plans, directs and treats all patients referred for audiology treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.
