Job Description

Beach Lake Bakery in Beach Lake, PA, is looking for a baker. The position is a seasonal (April to mid-January) part-time position (10-15 hours/week). Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and reliable.

This position requires one early-morning shift (Sunday) starting at 4am (3am on holiday weekends).

Days & Hours

Friday afternoon: 2pm to 7pm

Sunday morning: 4am to 9am (earlier start on holiday weekends)

Responsibilities

• Scale ingredients by following recipes
• Mix batters and doughs
• Mold and shape breads
• Bake breads
• Bake pies
• Work with various batters and help form and fill pastries and croissants
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers
• Provide assistance to coworkers
• Allocate and pack bakery items for orders
• Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
• Help maintain safety in bakery by clearing spills promptly, keeping all equipment, floors, and work surfaces clean.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail in all aspects of baking
• Dedicated to working as a team
• Experience in baking a plus but not required
• Organized and capable of following instructions
• Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of time
• Must be able to withstand stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. without restriction

Skills Required

• Must be able to use all baking equipment and utensils necessary to carry out jobs
• Proficient in minor mathematical calculations

Job Type

Available to work some holidays:

• The day before Thanksgiving (Wed., Nov. 20th)
• Christmas Eve (Tues., Dec. 24th)
• New Year's Eve (Tues. Dec. 31st)
