The Department of Psychiatry - Addiction Research & Treatment for the University of Maryland School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Research Assistant. Note: This is a contractual position.

Primary Duties
* Assists with direct communication with participants regarding the research study. Performs data collection with the use of research-approved surveys, instruments and assessments. Responsibilities may involve reviewing electronic health records for data extraction.
* Assists with recruitment and screening of subjects for eligibility, obtaining consent, and enrolling participants.
* Assist with establishment and maintenance of an electronic database and reports using RedCap under the direction of the principal investigator.
* Assists with assurance of data integrity, verification, and data cleaning. At all stages, the person will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality control requirements and study relevance.
* Assists with basic data analysis using SPSS software. Assists in developing graphical content for publications and presentations.
* Conducts and analyzes results of literature searches.
* Performs administrative duties such as: providing training and guidance for trainees, assisting in developing and submitting grants and manuscripts.
* Assists the Principal Investigator and other research personnel in aspects of ongoing research studies.
* Participates in qualitative research projects including conducting semi-structured interviews, transcript cleaning and coding, and analysis of data using grounded theory approaches.
* Performs duties using qualitative analysis tools (Atlas.ti, NVivo, Dedoose, etc).
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychiatry, Psychology, Neuroscience, or a scientific field of study related to the research of the clinical setting.
Experience: Prior clinical research experience preferred.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.

Hiring Salary: $45,000 - $49,000, commensurate with education and experience.
