Physical Design Engineer - High Voltage (HV) and/or Civil-Structural (CIV) Windsor Mill, Maryland Primary Duties and Accountabilities Develop Physical (HV/CIV) models using AutoDesk Inventor. Create/develop Inventor parts and assemblies for the use within an electric substation. Assemble Inventor parts and assemblies into full electric substations. Add and manage part and assembly specific data within the models and AutoDesk Vault. Assist in configuring the AutoDesk Inventor environment. Create AutoDesk Inventor drawings from electric substation models. Convert High Voltage and Civil design standards into models and smart drawings. Manage drawings and data within AutoDesk Vault. Develop required procedures, job aids and flow charts in support of the Intelligent CAD implementation. Develop and manage the AutoDesk Inventor, Spatial Business Systems, and Autodesk Vault databases utilizing existing other data sources to ensure content is data rich. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Structural Engineering and/or Licensed Professional Engineer or Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering is preferred, Certificate from a recognized AutoCAD program is also acceptable. 5+ years of AutoDesk experience, preferably in High Voltage and/or Civil Structural Design. Minimum of 3 years of experience using AutoDesk Inventor. Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. Ability to read and understand High Voltage and Civil substation drawings including but not limited to electrical one-line drawings, arrangement of equipment, structural steel & foundation drawings, etc. Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory. Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices. Knowledge of complex calculations such as bus calculations, structural steel load analysis, lightning protection, etc. 5-7 years of professional engineering and or design experience. Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with all management levels. Preferred Qualifications Background in Power Systems (Electrical substation equipment and their functions, protective relays etc.) Experience using Autodesk Fusion 360, AutoDesk Vault, and AutoCAD software. Familiarity with SDS toolkits for substation design in AutoDesk Inventor. Database creation and data management (Microsoft Access, SQL etc.) What’s in it for you?
