Radiology Partners Bluegrass is seeking an enthusiastic Physician Assistant to work in the Interventional Radiology in Prestonsburg, KY. This hospital-based position is highly procedurally oriented.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Primary role is to be physician extender/substitute for procedures performed in Interventional radiology and Ultrasound
- Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults, inpatient rounding
- Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries
- Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies
- Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
- Perform history and physical examinations of radiology patients
- Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients
- Procedures: Central lines, Tunneled Catheters, Chest Tubes, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Superficial Biopsies, Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms, Arthrograms, Abscess Drainage, Thyroid Biopsies, Fluoro
LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW
A local Radiology Partners division, RP Bluegrass, will primarily serve Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH). Appalachian Regional Healthcare, the Healthcare System of Appalachia and ranked as one of the Top 10 Employers in Kentucky by Forbes Magazine, is a not-for-profit health system operating 14 hospitals in Barbourville, Hazard, Harlan, Hyden, Martin, McDowell, Middlesboro, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, South Williamson, West Liberty and Whitesburg in Kentucky; as well as Beckley and Hinton in West Virginia, along with multi-specialty physician practices, home health agencies, home medical equipment stores, and retail pharmacies
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Current license and certificate of authority to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Kentucky required
- Must be a graduate of an ARC accredited PA program, have an active DEA license, BLS certification required
- Interventional Radiology or comparable invasive procedure experience
