  • Manage work authorization documentation, tracking expirations, and managing employment terminations to maintain compliance and accurate recordkeeping.

2) Employee Communication & Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries to the general HR inbox, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Develop and distribute quarterly employee newsletter, sharing updates, achievements, and key information in alignment with company goals.
  • Support communication of policy changes, procedural updates, and HR announcements to the broader employee base.

3) Partnership with Center Leaders:

  • Provide guidance on HR policies, handling challenging employee situations, developing disciplinary actions, implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs), and conducting difficult conversations with employees.
  • Support with investigations related to employee concerns, maintaining thorough documentation, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support center leaders in aligning employee management practices with company policies and procedures, and ensure that all performance documentation is in the HRIS.
  • Collaborate with center leaders to identify opportunities for employee development and foster a positive workplace culture.

4) Offboarding and Terminations:

  • Coordinate and oversee the offboarding process for terminated employees, ensuring all necessary documentation is secured and exit interviews are conducted.
  • Update HRIS to reflect termination details, ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Complete the termination checklist, securing company property, system access, and other offboarding requirements.

5) Unemployment & Workers' Compensation Management:

  • Respond to unemployment claims, including gathering and submitting required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Partner with payroll to verify employment dates, wages, and reason for termination.
  • Represent Tierra Encantada in unemployment hearings and appeals, preparing necessary documentation and presenting factual information.
  • Coordinate the reporting and management of workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely submission to the insurance provider.
  • Work with center leaders to gather necessary information regarding workplace injuries and accidents.
  • Monitor claims status, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with the insurance provider to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Provide guidance to employees on the workers' compensation process and assist with return-to-work plans as needed.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a multi-location or fast-growing company.
  • Experience in managing workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Experience in coaching or advising supervisors on employee relations and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with HR metrics and data-driven decision-making.
